Date Night with Daddy: Circus

Last Friday, Jeff took Grace on a date to the circus. Grace couldn't have been more excited! She even picked out what she wanted Jeff to wear (with a little help from Mommy because she wanted Jeff to wear slacks and a dress shirt!) and of course her dress and jewelry. She's definitely my daughter! :o)
They headed down early to take a peek at the elephants outside and to watch the clown show before the circus began. Jeff and I neither one knew how she would react to the clowns. I thought maybe she might be afraid (since she is afraid of everything else), but no she loved them. She even got to go down ring side prior to the show starting. And what did she do...but of course, her dance recital routine. She's not afraid of the stage or of people watching her. She loves to perform! I keep telling Jeff we need to get her into acting.

Once the show started, she was totally entertained! She sat in Jeff's lap the whole time...light up wand, hot dog and cotton candy in hand. :o)

When she got home, the FIRST thing she told me was..."When Emersyn gets a little more bigger, I'll take her to the circus!" It just makes my heart so happy to already see the love she has for Emersyn. I pray every day for the girls to have a close relationship as sweet sisters.

They had such a GREAT time together on their date!
I don't know who had more fun Grace or Jeff?! :o)

Last Family outing as a Threesome

We decided before Emersyn is born, we would take Grace out for a special day. We had lunch at the Thistle Cafe, in Davenport Village. If you are looking for super healthy food choices this is the place to go. Jeff and I both had a grilled chicken sandwich with chipotle mayo, lettuce, tomato, pickles and smoked gouda cheese. It was fabulous and we would recommend it to anyone! :o)

Then after lunch, we headed down to South Congress to an old fashion candy and soda fountain shop called Big Top. It was the neatest place! Grace was in hog heaven! They had so many different types of candy...old timey candy, rock candy, homemade truffles, salt water taffy, bulk candy, a place where you could order ice cream sundaes and homemade sodas.

(You can't see it in these pictures, but Grace's shirt says "I want candy")

We had such a GREAT time!

Now, we are all ready for Miss Emmie's arrival tomorrow morning!
We're so excited and can't wait to meet her! :o)
