Emmie's Stats

Emersyn is now 2 months old! She is getting so big...weighing in at 13lbs. and 23in. long.

Her little personality is beginning to emerge and it's so fun to see.

She is somewhat serious...smiling most of the time when she is being talked to. She takes everything in and is always keeping an eye on her big sister. Emersyn can't stand to have a wet or poopy diaper and even at times screams like she is hurt just to let us know that she wants her diaper off. She loves to look at her toys when doing tummy time and will even softly talk to them. She's such a good little eater, never missing any meals and sometimes adding little snacks in between (of milk that is! :o) An ounce here or there, most of the time it's to help her relax and go to sleep because you see, she doesn't like her paci very much and still hasn't mastered gettting her thumb in her mouth. Although, she tries very hard! :o) Emmie LOVES to be held, which can sometimes prevent me from getting things done, but I'm not complaining because I won't be able to hold her like this forever. So, I'm taking full advantage of it now. ;o) Naps during the day are a little bit tough around our house. She doesn't like her cradle, or her bed. She tends to wake up immediatley when laid down. So, I tend to put her in her bouncer or in her carrier, which seems to work pretty well. And lately, she seems to like taking naps in her swing. And if all else fails...naps on Mommy's chest is where she likes it best though. :o)

We just adore her and love watching her grow each and every day!

Here are a few pictures from the last few days.

Hope you enjoy our little angel, just as much as we do. :o)

Talented Lady

The wonderful lady that created such beautiful pieces to match Emersyn's crib bedding has her own blog of things that she makes. She is soooo talented and super sweet! If you need anything sewn, whether it be something that needs mending or something freshly created...she's the one to use and she's super reasonable.

I'm gonna have her make some matching pillowcase dresses for the girls to wear for the fall. I'm waiting on the fabric I ordered. I'll post pictures after I get the fabric to her and she makes them for me. :o)

Thoughts for Thursday: ONE OF A KIND

Since Emersyn came into our lives about a month and a half ago, life at times seem to be turned upside down. Don't get me wrong...I'm so very grateful for her and couldn't imagine life without her, but it's been a bit of a struggle at times to balance everything. From tending to Emmie's every need, to making sure I spend enough quality time with Grace, to laundry, to cleaning house, grocery shopping, trying to keep all the doctor appointments straight and everything else in between.

In comes my husband...

Along with working and traveling every week and chores of his own to do on the weekends...Jeff has stepped in to take on some of my responsibilites until things get a little more settled with a routine and schedule. He has picked up the grocery shopping (since we're trying not to take Emmie out in public unless we absolutely have to), at times cleaned the house for me, run errands for me, done some of the night feedings even when he has to work the next day, you name it he has probably done it. He's even missed out on watching some football games. I can't even begin to tell you how much I love and cherish him. He's the BEST husband and father anyone could ever ask for! He's definitely ONE OF A KIND!

I love you, babe!

(I took this picture right before bath time. I think it's so cute! And I think my husband looks pretty hot in this picture. ;o) )

Last Month in a Nut Shell

Gosh, time flies when you're having fun. Things have been a little crazy around here. I didn't realize that adding a baby to our mix was going to turn things upside down at times. LOL! I am such a routine person and everything has to be so-so and adding a baby to that seems to make the routine go out the door for the time being. I keep telling myself that things will get back to normal...it just might be a different normal. :o)
Here's what's been going on in our lives...
Grace is back at school. Although, I must say it's a little weird because I'm not there this year. She is having a blast with all her friends and it's good for Mommy too because I'm not having to come up with activities for her to do all day. It has been a bit trying lately with Emersyn added to the mix and she seems to be "a hold me baby, " which means Mommy gets nothing done, but we're working on that. ;o)

(She didn't get to wear her cute dress and sandals the 1st day of school due to all the rain we had that week.)

Dance started back up. Grace is taking Combo I, which is tap and ballet. She was so excited that she got to attend dance class without Mommy this year. She loves to perform and be the center of attention!

Emersyn rolled on her side at 3 weeks. My Aunt Carolyn and I actually witnessed it while she was sleeping on a blanket in the living room. She smiled for the first time at 3 weeks 4 days old. The smile was at her Daddy. Jeff and I neither one were sure if it was a real smile until we saw it happen a few more times after that. Now, we are working on trying to sleep through the night! :o)

Emersyn is a GREAT baby! We couldn't have asked for anything better.
God has truly blessed us again with a bundle of joy.

(Grace and her cheesy smile. She's such a goober!)
